About this course
Almost all bioprosthetic valves (tissue valves) currently in use for mitral valve replacement are stented. A stentless (Quatro) valve is still undergoing clinical trial but does not appear promising. Bioprostheses are indicated in the elderly (over 40 years’ age in India) and in patients who have contraindications for anticoagulant therapy
